What to consider before purchasing a pool heater:

Most pool heaters above 13kW will require their own dedicated power circuit. This will ultimately add cost to the installation.

To achieve all year swimming it is highly recommended to have a pool cover for the cooler/winter months. Not using a cover will increase the heater capacity and water evaporation rates. When a pool heat pump is used in the winter months, the pool water will be warmer than the ambient temperature, which causes the evaporation rates to be high. In turn, the water will need to be topped up and more attention paid to the chemical levels.

Taking note of the above factors, this will have an impact on the overall cost of the heater and ongoing operating costs.
